Constrained gourds, (grown in molds)
etched copper, medical tubing and rubber stoppers

This piece was made by constraining gourds in molds while they were growing.  After harvesting and drying the gourds, they were assembled, and wrapped with strips of copper.  The copper was etched with a barcode and alternating letters representing the four bases found in DNA.
